The teachers at our school are knowledgeable, they collaborate well together, they establish positive relationships with your children and they are learners who as a result become better teachers. It was great to hear of lots of children saying thank you to their teacher for what they have done for their learning and nurturing this year. KEEPING YOUR CHILDREN SAFE ONLINE

Christmas Hamper Collection As in previous years the RE Teachers are organising a collection of non-perishable items of food which will be given to the Inala Anglican Church who regularly distribute help to struggling families in that area. We feel that it is important to help the children think beyond themselves especially at Christmas time. The RE teachers will place decorated boxes in each classroom and over the next 3 weeks we would ask for your generosity in helping your children to select one or two items and take them into their class box at any time they wish. They will be presented to a Representative of the Inala Church at the RE Breakup which will be in the Hall on Friday 27th Nov. between 12 and 1.30. The Yrs 1 to 3 have their breakup from 12-12.30 and Yrs 4 to 7 from 12.45 to 1.15 and any interested parents are most welcome. Thank you for the privilege of teaching your children over this year and we wish you a peaceful and happy Christmas. Helen Lucas (RE Coordinator)

This is the poem written by Miranda Kidd (4A) which won 2 nd Place in the Ipswich International Poetry Feast
Boat Ride Let me go on a boat ride, Mum! May I follow the seagull’s path? I’ll hear the wishing waves whisper, And imagine that I’m flying too? Like a wild water safari I’d watch the wonderful world pass Let me touch the salty seas I’d follow the seagull as white as clouds Let me see the far horizons On the water like a salty bath The oceans will divide, collide May I follow the seagull’s path? Let me go on a boat ride!
Let me dive off the rocking boat Let me go on a boat ride Mum And plunge to a world of octopus I’ll whisper to the white horses With fish as colourful as rainbows Let me see the real me And with seaweed floating high Let me venture deep inside I’ll hear the whales sing their note And take out what I always hide Let me dive off the rocking boat!
May I ride on a dolphin’s back? Let me go on a boat ride, Mum….. I’d fly through the air then soar way down Can I touch the sea with my palms? Can I wet my hair in the ripples? The boat ride would have a little slack But may I ride on a dolphin’s back? May I follow the seagull’s path? |
