Boat Ride

Let me go on a boat ride, Mum! May I follow the seagull’s path?

I’ll hear the wishing waves whisper, And imagine that I’m flying too?

Like a wild water safari I’d watch the wonderful world pass

Let me touch the salty seas I’d follow the seagull as white as clouds

Let me see the far horizons On the water like a salty bath

The oceans will divide, collide May I follow the seagull’s path?

Let me go on a boat ride!

Let me dive off the rocking boat Let me go on a boat ride Mum

And plunge to a world of octopus I’ll whisper to the white horses

With fish as colourful as rainbows Let me see the real me

And with seaweed floating high Let me venture deep inside

I’ll hear the whales sing their note And take out what I always hide

Let me dive off the rocking boat!

May I ride on a dolphin’s back? Let me go on a boat ride, Mum…..

I’d fly through the air then soar way down

Can I touch the sea with my palms?

Can I wet my hair in the ripples?

The boat ride would have a little slack

But may I ride on a dolphin’s back?

May I follow the seagull’s path?

Claire in Year 5 wrote the poem - School - above - and it was decided to have the poem written on the wall in the bottom covered area for all to see. Congratulations Claire and Thanks.

Here is a selection of some great poems written by the Poetry Group.

My Old Birdie by Dana Simpson (Yr 3B)

I once had a little bird

When we raced I always came third

Sometimes when she was bad

I would punish her then feel sad

I would feed her food and water

I still remember all the things I taught her

I would watch her move her feet

And peck with her little beak

But one day she flew away

I would look for her everyday

She was aqua and blue

And I still never knew where she flew.

SCHOOL by Katie Foley 1B (2006)

My name is Katie

I’m in year one

My teacher is nice

And it is fun.

Sometimes we do Maths

We count to ten

We like it a lot

Then we do it again.

The bell rings

We go to play

Then it is over

But I want to stay.

The Wind.

Twisting and twirling,

Tumbling and swirling,

Bending an Autumn tree.

Raging and roaring,

Gliding and soaring,

My beautiful kite and me,

The wind starts to slow,

Gently we go,

Then it’s a gentle blow.

The wind starts to ease,

And unbends the trees,

Until it’s a gentle breeze.

by Charlotte Wishart

What a great poem. Congratulations Charlotte .

Violin by Rianna Bell Yr 3A

A violin is as loud as the wind

Whistling through the trees

Tuneful tunes all through the air

And musical magic everywhere

A beautiful bow that makes all the sounds

And a song going round and round

Crows by Jordan Ciechanowski Yr 7a

Crows!

They walk around like they own the school

Their claws look like long black tools

They have turned our school into a crow’s buffet

They feast on our rubbish each and every day

Crows!

Everyone says they’re the symbol of death

But they’re just huge, enormous pests

Some people say they look like a giant bat

So make sure you zip up your back pack!

There are more to come over the coming weeks!!!
